Updates

Below you will find a list of current updates that are available for downloading by owner-licensees of Centaur Systems programs. The size of the files is noted to give you an idea of the downloading time to allow for each. Be sure to choose the version that is correct for your computer type.

Windows and Mac OS X versions are compressed in ZIP format. Mac Classic versions are stored in SIT format. If your computer does not automatically 'unzip' the compressed file into its regular form, click here to find and download the free Stuff-It Expander which has versions to deal with both formats. (Choose the Win or Mac tab on the home page there.)
  • Mac Universal updates for OS X 10.6+ without Rosetta: Latin Flash Drill 4.5.7 for Mac Universal 7.1 MB (lfd-intel-update.zip) -- Latin Vocab Drill 4.5.7 for Mac Universal 6.7 MB (lvd-intel-update.zip) -- See the 'intel-update-readme-l*d.txt' file enclosed for instructions. -- 11 Dec 2009 Provides updated replacement program files for older program folder in order to run program under Mac OS X 10.6+ if Rosetta is not installed.
  • Latin Flash Drill 4.5.7 DXR file (for non-Universal/pre-OS X 10.6 -- for Universal, see above) -- Win/Mac OSX 1.6 MB (lfd45update.zip) -- See the 'update-readme-lfd.txt' file enclosed for instructions. -- 11 Dec 2009 Adjusts alignment on Scores page. -- 22 Sep 2008 Corrects output from 'Make Quiz' option for nouns, pronouns, and adjectives on the 'Settings' page. -- 8 Apr 2008 Avoids an error message when pressing 'Record' before any work has been done. -- 27 Mar 2008 Corrects an anomaly which might bring up an unselected tense when drilling subjunctives. -- 21 Mar 2007 Adds new scorekeeping formats and 'Review List' options for diagnostic guidance and recordkeeping.

  • LVD Cambridge 3rd ed Units 1-2 vocab file--Win/Mac OSX 16 KB (lvd-ca88.txt.zip)--Mac Classic 16 KB (lvd-ca88.txt.sit)--20 Apr 2005--Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder. Completes some missing meanings for 3rd person verbs (ending in '-s').
  • LVD Cambridge 4th ed (US) Units 1-2 vocab file-- Win/Mac OSX 16 KB (lvd-cc01.txt.zip)-- Mac Classic 16 KB (lvd-cc01.txt.sit)--20 Apr 2005--Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder. Completes some missing meanings for 3rd person verbs (ending in '-s') and an inconsistent answer for 'ego'.
  • LVD Cambridge 4th ed (UK) Units 1-2 vocab file-- Win/Mac OSX 16 KB (lvd-ce01.txt.zip)-- Mac Classic 16 KB (lvd-ce01.txt.sit)--20 Apr 2005--Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder. Completes some missing meanings for 3rd person verbs (ending in '-s').
  • LVD Common Entrance vocab file--Win/Mac OSX 12 KB (lvd-pb03.txt.zip)--Mac Classic 12 KB (lvd-pb03.txt.sit)--4 Dec 2006: Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder; corrects typo ('parere'>'parare')--20 May 2005: Changes 4th principal parts for verbs from perfect passive participles to supine forms where required. List numbers updated.
  • LVD Ecce 4th ed (2009) Book 3 update files-- Win/Mac OSX 32 KB (lvd-ecce3-ed4.zip)--16 Jan 2009--Follow instructions in the 'update-readme' file to add these files to various subfolders in the LVDdata folder to update the Book 3 vocabulary lists from the 3rd edition to the 4th (2009).
  • LVD Moreland vocab file--Win/Mac OSX 28 KB (lvd-ma77.txt.zip)--Mac Classic 28 KB (lvd-ma77.txt.sit)--15 Mar 2006--Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder; corrects a data typo in Unit 10 (pars,partis,partium,f).
  • LVD OCR GCSE vocab file--Win/Mac OSX 12 KB (lvd-sd07.txt.zip)--Mac Classic 12 KB (lvd-sd07.txt.sit)--4 Dec 2006: Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LVDdata folder; corrects typo ('parere'>'parare').
  • LFD OCR AS 2009 data files--Win/Mac OSX 12 KB (ocr_as09_update_lfd.zip)--26 Sep 2008: Use this file to add new data files for updated exam word list.
  • LVD OCR AS 2009 data files--Win/Mac OSX 32 KB (ocr_as09_update_lvd.zip)--26 Sep 2008: Use this file to add new data files for updated exam word list.
  • LVD Wheelock 6th ed/rev vocab file--Win/Mac OSX 28 KB (lvd-wc00.txt.zip)--Mac Classic 28 KB (lvd-wc00.txt.sit)-- Use this file to replace the same file in the Vocab subfolder of the LFDdata folder.  25 Jan 2007 Data file reformatted to support use of Case Sensitivity option on Settings page to distinguish macrons (long marks) with capital letters.--20 Apr 2005 Corrects some irregular word order sequencing in Chapters 13-18, 22, and 30.

  • Gramma 4.0 vocab file for Athenaze 2nd ed.--Win/Mac OSX & Classic 99 KB (Athenaze2.grv, uncompressed text file)--26 Jan 2006--Place this file in the Data subfolder within the Gramma program folder, and it will show up on the Vocab menu when you restart Gramma. (Windows note: Gramma is installed within the main Program Files folder.)
  • Gramma 4.0.7 data files --Win/Mac OSX 192 KB (gramupd407.zip), Mac Classic 152 KB (gramupd407.sit)--22 Oct 2002--After extracting/decompressing, place the files in the Data subfolder within the Gramma program folder to overwrite files of the same name. (Windows note: Gramma is installed within the main Program Files folder.)
