Getting Started _ Install _ Uninstall _ Networking LECTOR LATINUS (c) 2006 Abram Ring System Requirements Windows only: Microsoft Windows 98 or newer, 32 MB RAM, Pentium, 4 MB hard drive space; web browser. NOTE: HTML files created by the LatnLink option can be run on both Mac and Windows-based computers with a compatible web browser. Installation If you have an installer CD, when it is placed in your CD drive, the installer program should start up automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions. If you are installing from a download or the installer program on the CD does not start automatically, use 'My Computer' to find the installer program, labeled "LL_1.0.1_Installer.exe." Double-click (or right-click menu) to open/start up the installer, and follow its instructions. Once the program is installed, you can start it up by double-clicking on the desktop icon OR by using the 'Start' button menu to go to Programs, and find the program listed on its menu. Uninstall Process There is an 'Uninstall' program installed along with the program. From the 'Start' button menu, go to Programs, and find the 'Uninstall' program listed alongside the Lector Latinus program. Alternatively, you can use 'My Computer' to go to the Lector Latinus folder within the 'Program Files' folder, and find the 'Uninstall' program listed there. Networking & File Access Network installation is no different from the standard installation process. The program is self-contained within its folder (once decompressed, if necessary) and no auxiliary files need to be installed elsewhere. The program folders can copied into any desired non-public location (see 'License Restrictions'), with shortcuts or aliases created to direct users to the 'index.html' file. License Restrictions The program is licensed to either an individual (personal/student/download license) or a single institutional site (school/site license). Therefore, the program must be installed in a location that is not publicly accessible via the Internet. Demo The demo version has all the same facilities as the full version, but it is limited to 30 uses, and there is a constant reminder about its designation as a demo version and its limited uses. Using the Program Start the program by double-clicking on the desktop icon (if present) OR by using the 'Start' button menu to go to Programs, and find the program listed on its menu. You can always create a new shortcut by finding the main program file in the Lector Latinus folder in Program Files and using the right-click menu to 'create a shortcut' to it. For more information about using the program, see the full program manual contained within the Lector Latinus folder in Program Files, on the installer CD (if available), or by using the Help menu option within the program. Guarantee The publisher warrants the program and the disk on which it is distributed to the licensee for a period of one year. A description of any program defects should be sent along with a defective distribution disk to the publisher for replacement. Replacement master disks are available to licensees at a nominal cost, in the event of accidental damage or loss.
